The in-person seminar will demonstrate how the wider industry is benefitting from a connected construction workflow.
Real-life testimonials will offer a glimpse on how to design faster and more accurately, and they will showcase the more sustainable outcomes achieved by evaluating carbon during the designing stage.
The seminar will cover the following:
Structured parametrics as a solution for practical, accurate, and time saving building design
Interoperability between different tools for designing with steel, rebar modelling, and connection design workflow
Modern solutions for sustainable construction with the Carbon Calculator and One Click LCA tools
Live product demonstrations and networking
Structural engineers, architects, contractors
Anyone interested in how to create more sustainable design practices and responsible working environments
Learn how to design sustainably from the start of your project
Learn how efficient collaboration can help to achieve net-zero targets
Learn about modern solutions and what Trimble has to offer
Network with other experts from the wider industry
David is responsible for the development of Tekla Structural Designers, Trimble's analysis and design software, and has been with the company for over 30 years. He is an instrumental part of Trimble’s Civil Engineering and Construction division and recently also developed the carbon calculator within Tekla software.
A chartered structural engineer, Ian has a range of experience across multiple sectors and specialises in long span steel design. Recently, Ian has worked on a range of net-zero carbon initiatives, including leading the embodied carbon workstream for the NHS Net-Zero Carbon Building Standard and the DfE GenZero Schools Project. Ian is a member of the IStructE Sustainability Panel, authoring two published papers in the Structural Engineer Journal and co-producing the Structural Sustainability Report Template in his term on the panel.
With over 35 years’ experience in the building industry, and two decades experience working in consultancy, Ralph has been involved in the software industry since 2008, specialising on technical sales, product management and customer/event presentations. With a deep understanding of engineering workflows, Ralph joined IDEA StatiCa in 2021, where he has since been working closely with both customers and the development team.
Sebastian works in Trimble's Structures Division, headquartered in Finland, where he develops and manages solutions for dealing with complex geometry in Tekla Structures. Currently, he is exploring parametric workflows, using the link between Grasshopper and Tekla Structures, which enables rapid structural form iterations and investigation of design options.
