This breakfast briefing explored how CROSS drives a culture of structural and fire safety reporting across the engineering profession.

Structural and fire safety has been brought into sharp focus in recent years, particularly following the collapse of Champlain Towers in Miami in 2021 and the London Grenfell fire tragedy in 2017.

The panel explored CROSS's origins, expansion and future, and the presenter discussed some case studies.

The formation, development, and future of CROSS Using real safety reports as case studies, Alastair demonstrates how the safety reporting process works and how it fits into the international structural engineering stage.

An enhanced and expanded CROSS-UK The presentation showcases how CROSS UK has expanded since the Grenfell tragedy and its recent relaunch to include fire safety. CROSS's taxonomy is analysed.

Collaborative reporting for fire safety Using historic case studies, the presentation shows how regulation around safety is changing and how CROSS fits in the wider cultural change.
