Tristan Simmonds explores his engineering work on sculptural projects including the 2015 Milan Expo UK Pavilion ‘Hive’.

Tristan shows how he has leveraged computational tools to design, detail and fabricate complex structures with limited resources. He also speaks about his experiences with artists and how small offices can use digital tools to execute larger, more conventional projects.

Speaker

Tristan Simmonds is a graduate of the University of Bath. He has more than 20 years of experience in the design and execution of building structures across the globe. He served a long apprenticeship in lightweight structures under the late Brian Forster and subsequently became involved in the design of ‘complex’ projects and the development of digital design tools.
