The second webinar of the Modern uses of timber series focuses on the practicalities of designing with timber.

Due to the current environmental drivers, an increasing number of tall and complex buildings being conceived that incorporate mass timber, either for the entirety of the structural frame or in parts of hybrid structures. This means that timber structures are being designed and delivered at a pace that can potentially go beyond current levels of knowledge and the competency of fire safety engineers.

The 2022 Modern uses of timber e-conference saw an expert panel introducing good practice in the engineering of structural timber, with presentations investigating advances in its use, its potential, fire safety and durability.

The second webinar on the series explores the practicalities of designing with timber.
