Technical Guidance Notes

Originally published in The Structural Engineer, the Institution's Technical Guidance Notes can be purchased by non-members to form the foundation of a structural engineering technical library. Written with recent graduates in mind, they also serve as useful 'refereshers' for more experienced engineers.

Level 1 notes provide the basis from which design skills can be developed (focusing on structural engineering core concepts) while Level 2 notes deal with more complex topics; typically the design of elements.
