By the death of Mr. Charles F. Mountney (Associate) on the 7th March, the Western Counties Branch has lost one of its Founder members and staunchest supporters. Mr. Mountney, who was in his sixty-first year, was elected to the Institution in 1923. He helped to found the Western Counties Branch and served on the Committee since its inception. He supported all the activities of the Branch, before which he read two papers, and served with distinction as Vice-chairman from 1940 to 1945. Many of our younger members, not only in the Western Counties, but throughout the country, will remember with gratitude the training and guidance they received from him at the Merchant Venturers’ Technical College, where he lectured for over twenty years,
