We offer a range of qualifications and registrations to help with your professional development needs. We have options for graduates, employers and experienced engineers looking for recognition of their specialism.

We’re developing new qualifications and registrations to reinforce fundamental skills in graduates and recognise the extraordinary specialist skills possessed by our more experienced and specialist members.

Here you will find more information about assessments you can take, as well as details on other registrations associated with the Institution.

Certificate in Structural Behaviour
The certificate is an internationally recognised mark of competence that proves you have the skills valued by employers: fundamental knowledge and understanding of structural behaviour, including trusses, beams, plasticity, and dynamics.

Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv)
Demonstrates high level of knowledge around sustainability and environmental issues, and both leadership and practical application of this knowledge in your field of work.

Chartered Environmentalist registration reflects a high level of skill and experience working in sustainability


Registrations

Registration and certification in the UK

As a professionally qualified member we can register you with the UK Engineering Council

You're also eligible to apply for a Professionally Qualified Person Card via the UK's Construction Skills Certification Scheme.

 

Registration in Europe

If you are registered CEng with the Engineering Council we can register you as EUR ING with Engineers Eurpoe (formerly FEANI). 

To apply via IStructE complete the application form and return it to our registrations team

There is an initial fee of £210.

Please note: make sure you give the full name of your university and degree, plus complete details of your engineering experience, to ensure your application proceeds smoothly. 

 

Registration with International Alliance

IntPE (UK)

If you are registered CEng with the Engineering Council we can register you as IntPE(UK) with the International Engineering Alliance – which allows easier access to the national registers of members

To apply via IStructE download the relevant form from the Engineering Council and return it to our registrations team

The registration fee is £105, renewable every five years at a fee of £60.

Please note: we can’t register those who achieved Chartered Status via Technical Report or another alternative route.

IntET (UK)

If you’re registered IEng with the Engineering Council we can register you as IntET (UK) with the International Engineering Alliance – which allows easier access to the national registers of members

To apply via IStructE download the relevant form from the Engineering Council and return it to our registrations team

The registration fee is £105, renewable every five years at a fee of £60.

Please note: we can’t register members who achieved membership via Technical Report or another alternative route.
 

Registration in Australia

If you are seeking professional registration status in the states of Queensland or Victoria you can apply via the IStructE’s assessment schemes. Membership of the IStructE is not necessary.
