The Structural Engineer, Volume 25, Issue 10, 1947
Mr. FREDERICK S. SNOW (Vice-president) accepted with pleasure the honour of proposing a vote of thanks to Sir Frank Gill on behalf of the Institution for his excellent and interesting lecture.
The practical nature of much of the engineer’s work renders him very conscious of the words Cost and Economy. Yet, familiar as these words are, the subject is not very prominent in engineering text books, or in papers before Engineering Institutions, and though this question of economy is fundamental to engineering design, even to-day cases are found where economy is related inappropriately to first cost. Sir Frank Gill
This month's letters include discussion over design checks and suitably experienced engineers as well as seismic design of masonry and more.
