THE PRESIDENT (Professor H. J. Collins), in opening the meeting, said it was a privilege to have as the author of the paper that evening Professor R.H. Evans, who then gave a synopsis of his paper.
It is a very great honour to have been elected President of this Chartered Institution. I would thank all of you who placed me in this high office and I would assure you of my every endeavour to live up to the standards set by my predecessors in furthering the interests of our profession to the utmost of my ability.
