The bridge, or viaduct, at Angel Road, Edmonton, described in this paper is part of the Ministry of Transport’s development of the North Circular Road. The road at this point crosses the main line to Cambridge out of Liverpool Street Station. Previously, the road had been carried across the tracks by a reinforced concrete structure of 17 spans which had been built in 1908 and is believed to be one of the first bridges to be built in reinforced concrete in this country. It had a 24-ft. carriageway and was restricted to a load of 30 tons, as well as having a severe S bend.
