Demonstrate your commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD) through membership of an institution recognised for its upholding of standards and competence.
Establish that you have the right academic foundation. For Associate-Membership you'll need either:
An Institution accredited three year IEng degree eg BSc, BEng (ordinary)
A approved Higher National Diploma (You'll need to demonstrate a period of further learning, eg by completing the Associate-Membership exam.)
A degree in structural and/or civil engineering recognised under an international agreement eg Sydney Accord, FEANI etc
or follow a Technical Report Route, to demonstrate you have gained equivalent knowledge through your work experience
If you're unsure about your qualifications contact the membership team and we can arrange an academic assessment.
You'll need to demonstrate that you have satisfied the Initial Professional Development (IPD) requirements for Associate-Membership, completing an IPD Final Report Form for each of the Core Objectives.
Complete a portfolio of work to support your IPD forms.
Pass our Professional Review: The Associate-Membership exam and interview together form one of the most demanding assessments of knowledge and professional competence in the world.
Once you're ready to apply fill out our expression of interest form, identifying how you'd like to undertake your Professional Review.
